The Orr Roadside Parking Area on U.S. Route 53 in Orr, Minnesota, is a New Deal–era roadside park built between 1935 and 1938 to give motorists recreational access to Pelican Lake. Designed by landscape architect Arthur R. Nichols and constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps working with the Minnesota Department of Highways, the overlook exemplifies National Park Service rustic style. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002, it was recognized for its state-level significance as an early highway wayside built with federal work relief aid and as a representative work of Nichols's landscape architecture practice during the Depression era.
