The Garrison Concourse is a roadside park built between 1936 and 1939 on the shore of Mille Lacs Lake in Garrison, Minnesota, as the centerpiece of the Mille Lacs Highway Development Plan, a major New Deal initiative to create a scenic parkway along the lakeshore. The site features a broad parking area and scenic overlook extending into the lake, complemented by landscaped parkland stretching along both directions of shore. Designed in the National Park Service rustic style, the concourse exemplifies a distinctive blend of formalism and rustic architecture. It was developed through a collaborative effort between the Minnesota Highway Department and the Civilian Conservation Corps, representing the most extensive roadside development project undertaken by these agencies. The Garrison Concourse was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2013 for its state-level significance in landscape architecture and politics and government.
