Reads Landing Overlook is a scenic viewpoint on U.S. Route 61 in Pepin Township, Minnesota, built between 1939 and 1940 as a New Deal project. Designed by landscape architect Arthur R. Nichols and constructed by the National Youth Administration, the overlook was created to provide motorists with views of Lake Pepin. Executed in the National Park Service rustic style, it exemplifies the early highway waysides built in Minnesota with federal work relief funding during the Depression era. The structure was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004 for its significance in landscape architecture and governmental history.
