Our Lady of Meritxell, located in Canillo, Andorra, is a contemporary minor basilica and shrine dedicated to the Virgin Mary, designed by architect Ricardo Bofill and completed in 1976. Built in the modernist idiom that characterizes Bofill's work, the structure represents a significant example of late twentieth-century religious architecture in the Pyrenees. Recognized as a cultural property of interest (bé d'interès cultural), the basilica serves as both a place of pilgrimage and an architectural landmark, combining contemporary design principles with its function as a shrine to Andorra's patron saint.
