The Petit Trianon is a Neoclassical château located within the gardens of the Palace of Versailles in Versailles, France. Designed by architect Ange-Jacques Gabriel and built between 1762 and 1768 during the reign of Louis XV, this maison de plaisance (pleasure house) represents a refined example of mid-eighteenth-century French Classicism. Constructed within the grounds of the larger Grand Trianon, the Petit Trianon served as an intimate royal retreat, embodying the elegant restraint and proportional clarity characteristic of Neoclassical design.
