Located at 700–704 Hay Street in Perth's central business district, the Piccadilly Theatre and Arcade is an Art Deco cinema and shopping complex designed by William T. Leighton for mining entrepreneur Claude de Bernales and opened in 1938. The arcade originally connected Hay Street through to Murray Street, creating a pedestrian passage lined with shops. The complex underwent significant refurbishment in 1984, work that earned an architectural award from the Royal Australian Institute of Architecture (WA Chapter) in 1986. The cinema operated continuously until its closure in 2013, making it the last of Perth's central business district cinemas until the Palace Cinema opened at nearby Raine Square in 2018. Following a three-year renovation, the arcade reopened in November 2021. The site holds State Heritage Register status and is classified by the National Trust of Australia.
