The Pioneer Implement Company, located in Council Bluffs, Iowa, is a historic four-story Late Victorian structure built in 1893 by local founders Eli Shugart, Ferdinand Weis, and F.R. Davis. Distinctive as one of the few locally owned agricultural implement businesses in the city's thriving Implement District—a designation that set it apart from eastern factory-owned competitors—the building exemplified the region's industrial prosperity at the turn of the twentieth century. After the company ceased operations in 1915, International Harvester acquired the property and added a single-story brick extension in 1927, maintaining its role in farm equipment commerce until the company's 1964 closure. The building subsequently housed various tenants before Artspace, Inc. converted it into artist live/work spaces, securing its adaptive reuse and cultural value. The Pioneer Implement Company was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.
