The Plaza de Toros México in Mexico City is the world's largest bullring, with a capacity of 41,262 seats. Designed in brutalist architecture and opened on February 5, 1946, it replaced the Toreo de la Condesa as the city's primary arena for bullfighting. Though primarily dedicated to corridas de toros, the facility has also hosted major boxing events, including notable matches featuring Julio César Chávez. The anniversary of its opening is celebrated annually with the Corrida de Aniversario. Built adjacent to the Estadio Ciudad de los Deportes, the Plaza México responds to the capital's explosive twentieth-century growth.
