Princes Road Synagogue in Liverpool's Toxteth district is an Orthodox Jewish place of worship completed in 1874 by brothers William James and George Ashdown Audsley. Widely regarded as the finest example of Moorish Revival synagogue architecture in the United Kingdom, the building combines Romanesque Revival, eclectic, and Rundbogenstil elements in its distinctive design. Home to the Liverpool Old Hebrew Congregation—an Ashkenazi congregation established around 1780—the synagogue was designated Grade I listed in 1975. Its architectural influence extended internationally, with a synagogue emulating its design later constructed in Sydney, Australia.
