The Pyramid of Khafre, located on the Giza plateau in Egypt, is the middle of the three great pyramids and the tomb of the Fourth-Dynasty Pharaoh Khafre, who ruled approximately 2558–2532 BC. Standing 143.5 meters tall, it is the second largest and second tallest of the Giza group. Built in the ancient Egyptian architectural style as a smooth-sided pyramid, it remains distinctive among its companions for retaining cladding at its apex—the only one of the three to preserve this original facing.
