Situated on Kearny Street in La Luz, New Mexico, the Queen Anne House was built around 1900 and represents a rare architectural anomaly in the remote mountain community. Constructed in the Queen Anne style—which typically required manufactured materials shipped from distant suppliers—the cottage stands as the sole structure in La Luz possessing significant architectural merit on its own account. Its one-and-a-half-story frame features characteristic Queen Anne detailing, notably a conical roof crowning a section of the porch. The style's presence in this isolated location, far from the major railroad hubs of the Santa Fe and Southern Pacific lines that usually drove such construction, marks it as an unusual and noteworthy example. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980, the house is also registered on the New Mexico State Register of Cultural Properties.
