The Tyson House, located at 242 West Liberty Street in Reno, Nevada, is a historic residence constructed between 1904 and 1906. Designed primarily in the Queen Anne style with Colonial Revival elements, the house was once owned by the family of Nevada senator Francis Newlands. Its prominence in Reno's architectural landscape derives from both its corner site and its status as an imposing and well-preserved vernacular example of Queen Anne design from the early twentieth century. Having undergone only minor modifications, the house remains an increasingly rare representative of its architectural era in the city. The property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983, a designation that encompassed two contributing buildings.
