This residential block on Beemsterstraat in Amsterdam exemplifies the Amsterdam School architectural style, a distinctive approach to Dutch modernism. Built as a structure containing eight kitchen dwellings—innovative for their era in featuring kitchens positioned prominently at the front of the units—the building incorporates a wooden gable at its side. Designated a Rijksmonument, it represents early twentieth-century experimentation in functional domestic design and decorative brickwork characteristic of the Amsterdam School movement.
