Rhodesleigh, a Tudor Revival mansion in Lakewood, Washington, was built in 1922 by architects Ambrose J. Russell and Frederick Heath for the Rhodes family, prominent retailers whose department stores operated throughout the region. The Rhodes Brothers' business had grown from a coffee shop founded in downtown Tacoma in 1892 by Albert, William, Henry, and Charles Rhodes. Comprising over 12,600 square feet with eight or more bedrooms and seven or more bathrooms, the residence overlooks Lake Steilacoom and was erected in memory of Edward Rhodes, who died in World War I. The property, which also includes a carriage house constructed in 1941, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
