The Robbins & Appleton Building stands at 1–5 Bond Street in Manhattan's NoHo neighborhood, between Broadway and Lafayette Street. Designed by architect Stephen Decatur Hatch and completed in 1879–1880, this Second Empire structure showcases an ornate cast iron facade and mansard roof characteristic of the style. Originally constructed as a revenue house, it served the manufacture of watch cases and housed publisher D. Appleton & Company before being converted to residential use in 1986. Designated a New York City landmark in 1979 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982, the building remains a well-preserved example of late-nineteenth-century commercial architecture in Lower Manhattan.
