The Royal E. Robbins School, a two-story brick Georgian Revival building completed in 1901, stands at 58 Chestnut Street in Waltham, Massachusetts. Designed by the firm Hartwell and Richardson, it was erected during a period of rapid urban expansion on the city's South Side. Named for Royal E. Robbins, a founding figure of the Waltham Watch Company—a dominant economic engine in the region—the structure exemplifies Colonial Revival architecture characteristic of early twentieth-century American institutional design. Now serving as a community center, the building was recognized for its historic significance when it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.
