Ropes End is a historic summer house built around 1898 in Phippsburg, Maine, exemplifying the Shingle style architecture characteristic of late-nineteenth-century American seaside retreats. Constructed as part of a small summer colony developed by Joseph R. Bodwell, the house represents a fine local example of the style's distinctive use of continuous wood shingles and informal massing. Located at 36 Hyde Road, Ropes End was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001.
