Built in the early 1850s, the S. B. White House in Winchester, Massachusetts, is a one-and-a-half-story wood-frame residence and one of the town's finest examples of Gothic Revival architecture. The house features clapboard siding and steeply pitched gables ornamented with delicate icicle-like vergeboard, hallmarks of the Gothic Revival style. Its entry is framed by sidelight windows and sheltered beneath a later-added porch. Originally built and owned by Samuel B. White, Jr., who served as Winchester's first town treasurer, the house was recognized for its architectural significance when it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.
