The São Vito Building was a 112-metre, 27-story brutalist residential skyscraper completed in 1959 in São Paulo's Central Zone, designed by architect Waldomiro Zarzur. Popularly nicknamed "Treme-Treme" (Shiver-Shiver), the building gradually deteriorated over its decades of use and became notorious as São Paulo's largest vertical cortiço, or tenement slum. The city expropriated and evacuated the structure in 2004, and it was ultimately demolished in 2011.
