Saybrook Breakwater Light is a sparkplug lighthouse built in 1886 at Fenwick Point near Old Saybrook, Connecticut, marking the harbor channel at the mouth of the Connecticut River. Also known as "Outer Light" or "Breakwater Light," it stands as one of two nineteenth-century lighthouses off Lynde Point; its companion, Lynde Point Light ("Inner Light"), predates it by seventy-five years. The structure has become an iconic symbol of Old Saybrook and appears on the state's "Preserve the Sound" license plates. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
