The Schemerlbrücke is an Art Nouveau barrage and road bridge in the Brigittenau district of Vienna, designed by architect Otto Wagner and completed in 1894. As both a functional waterway barrier and vehicular crossing, it exemplifies Wagner's integration of engineering with the ornamental language of the Austro-Hungarian fin de siècle, marking an early application of modernist principles to Vienna's infrastructure.
