Schloss Weißenstein, a palatial residence in Pommersfelden, Bavaria, stands as a masterwork of Baroque architecture. Built beginning in 1718 for Lothar Franz von Schönborn, Prince-Bishop of Bamberg and Archbishop of Mainz, the château was designed by the renowned architects Johann Dientzenhofer and Johann Lukas von Hildebrandt, with contributions from Maximilian von Welsch. Conceived as a private summer residence, Schloss Weißenstein has remained in the Schönborn family and today serves as both a museum and architectural heritage monument in the Bamberg Rural District.
