A nine-story merchandise warehouse built for Sears, Roebuck and Company between 1912 and 1923, this North Kansas City building exemplifies the Chicago School style blended with Late Gothic Revival design elements. Constructed during the early twentieth-century expansion of mail-order retail, the structure reflects the era's industrial architecture and warehouse design principles. The building has undergone significant adaptive reuse, serving variously as the Missouri Poster and Sign Company and Bellas Hess Antique Mall before its conversion to apartments under the name Park Lofts. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997, it stands as a testament to the commercial infrastructure that supported Sears's growth as a national retailer.
