The Selfridges Building in Birmingham, completed in 2003, is a striking department store within the Bullring Shopping Centre designed by Future Systems architects Jan Kaplický and Amanda Levete. Constructed at a cost of £60 million, the building exemplifies blobitecture and high-tech architecture through its distinctive steel framework clad in a sprayed concrete facade. The structure's innovative design earned it recognition as one of Windows 7's architectural theme backgrounds.
