The Wells Fargo Tower is a 34-story, 138-meter-tall modern office building in Birmingham, Alabama, completed in 1986. Designed by the architectural firm Skidmore, Owings and Merrill, it originally served as the corporate headquarters for SouthTrust Corporation before successive corporate mergers and acquisitions transformed its identity and tenancy. The building has been known variously as the SouthTrust Tower (1986–2005), Wachovia Tower (2005–2010), and Wells Fargo Tower (2010–2020), reflecting the major financial institutions that occupied or owned it. In 2020, the building was rebranded as the Shipt Tower after the Target Corporation subsidiary became its anchor tenant.
