The Shibayama Kofun cluster, located in the Nakadai neighborhood of Yokoshibahikari in Chiba Prefecture's Kantō region, is a group of early seventh-century burial mounds dating to the Kofun period. These mounds exemplify the zenpō-kōen-fun architectural style, characterized by a distinctive keyhole shape combining a rectangular fore-section with a circular rear mound. Designated a National Historic Site of Japan in 1958, the cluster—also known as the Nakadai kofun cluster—represents an important archaeological resource for understanding burial practices and social organization in early medieval Japan, despite its historical name placing it in neighboring Shibayama rather than its actual location.
