Shrubs Wood is a Grade II* listed Art Deco country house in Chalfont St Peter, Buckinghamshire, built between 1933 and 1934 by architects Erich Mendelsohn and Serge Chermayeff. One of only two residential properties created during their brief partnership, it represents a modernist reinterpretation of the traditional English country house and is regarded as an important example of "mature" Modernism. The house is notable for its exterior, staircase, and integrated furniture design. Originally named Nimmo House, it was renamed Shrubs Wood by Bridget D'Oyly Carte following her purchase of the property in 1949. The building has since served as a filming location for numerous period television productions, including Agatha Christie's Marple, Agatha Christie's Poirot, Midsomer Murders, Jonathan Creek, and Endeavour.
