The Silberturm (Silver Tower) is a 32-storey, 166.3-meter modernist skyscraper completed in 1978 in Frankfurt's Bahnhofsviertel district. Constructed of concrete, steel, and aluminium, it held the distinction of being Germany's tallest building from its completion until 1990. Originally built as the Dresdner-Bank-Hochhaus to serve as headquarters for Dresdner Bank, one of Germany's largest financial institutions, the tower remained associated with the bank until 2009, when Dresdner merged with Commerzbank. Since at least 2012, Deutsche Bahn has been the building's primary tenant.
