Songvår Lighthouse stands on the island of Hellersøya, about 7 kilometres south of Høllen in Kristiansand Municipality, Norway. The original lighthouse was built in 1888, but was replaced by a new structure in 1955—a 10-metre tower rising from a keeper's house. That structure served until 2004, when it was decommissioned and replaced with a smaller automated light tower. The current lighthouse, built in 2004, stands just 5 metres tall and emits a white, red, or green light depending on direction, visible for up to 12.3 miles, with a 3-second on/off flashing sequence. The 1955 lighthouse remains standing and has been restored; it is now available to rent for overnight stays. The site, accessible only by boat, preserves the ruins of the original 1888 foundation nearby.
