Oksøy Lighthouse stands on a small islet in the Kristiansandsfjorden near Kristiansand Municipality in Norway's Agder county, marking the western edge of the main shipping channel to Kristiansand's port. Originally built in 1832, the lighthouse was rebuilt in 1900 as a cylindrical cast iron tower reaching 36 metres in height, painted white with two red bands. Its primary light—a powerful 1st order Fresnel lens positioned at 47 metres elevation—flashes twice every 45 seconds and can be seen up to 17.4 nautical miles away. A secondary continuous white light lower on the tower serves navigators on one side of the structure. The lighthouse also transmits a morse code "O" racon signal and works in tandem with Grønningen Lighthouse, situated 2.2 kilometres to the east, to guide vessels through the fjord.
