St. Panteleimon's Cathedral in Kyiv's Feofaniia neighbourhood stands as a landmark of Russian Revival ecclesiastical architecture, built between 1905 and 1912 to designs by Yevhen Yermakov. The pentacupolar structure features a massive black central dome flanked by four tent-like corner domes, with continuous low galleries encircling the building and outer walls adorned in intricate tracery. Originally intended as the principal church of the Kyivan Monastery of St. Panteleimon—a skete branch of St. Michael's Golden-Domed Monastery—the cathedral was shuttered and pillaged in the 1920s, then damaged during World War II. The hollow structure was returned to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the 1990s and restored as the main church of a nunnery, with complementary convent buildings now matching its distinctive style.
