Saint Sophie Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral stands on Saint-Michel Boulevard in Montreal's Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie borough. Designed by architect Volodymyr Sichynsky and completed in 1962, the structure exemplifies Byzantine Revival architecture. Its stone front facade contrasts with brick exterior walls, while a copper roof crowns the composition. The building was elevated to cathedral status in 1988, reflecting the growing prominence of Montreal's Ukrainian Orthodox community.
