The Sultan Ismail Petra Mosque in Rantau Panjang, Kelantan, Malaysia, is a Chinese-style mosque completed in 2009 that draws architectural inspiration from Beijing's historic Niujie Mosque, one of China's oldest Islamic structures. Construction began in September 2005 and was completed in August 2009 at a cost of RM8.8 million. Spanning 3.7 acres, the mosque can accommodate up to 1,000 worshipers and represents a distinctive fusion of Islamic religious purpose with traditional Chinese architectural aesthetics.
