Demolished or destroyed.
The Synagogue du Quai Kléber was the principal synagogue of Strasbourg, built in 1898 in the Romanesque Revival style by architect Ludwig Levy during the period when the city belonged to the German Empire. Located in the Neustadt district, it served Strasbourg's Jewish community until 1940, when Nazi Germany destroyed it following the annexation of the city. Between the end of German rule in 1918 and its destruction, the synagogue functioned as a French-Jewish institution in an increasingly fraught historical moment.
