Located in Sioux City, Iowa, the T.S. Martin and Company building is a historic L-shaped structure fronting Fourth Street and Nebraska Street that evolved through successive renovations spanning more than three decades. Thomas Sanford Martin established a dry goods store in 1880, eventually acquiring and consolidating multiple storefronts beginning in 1885. Local architect William McLaughlin oversaw an 1894 renovation, followed by Henry Fisher's 1902 annex along Nebraska Street, which displays Beaux-Arts styling with a roof-line knee wall, acanthus leaf brackets, and decorative swags. In 1911, architect William L. Steele designed a unified Prairie School facade across the Fourth Street frontage, featuring white terra cotta with ornamental bands of foliage and geometric patterns alongside Chicago-style windows. The building served as one of three locally owned department stores until the company relocated in 1919. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998.
