The Tampere Old Church is a wooden neoclassical structure completed in 1824 by Italian-born architect Carlo Bassi, opened to worship in 1825 in Tampere, Finland, near the Central Square. Designed as a cross church, it serves the city's Swedish-speaking Lutheran congregation and stands as the oldest surviving building in Tampere's city center. The belfry, designed by C. L. Engel and finished in 1828, is the second oldest. The church underwent significant restoration between 1953 and 1954 under Professor Nils Erik Wickberg's direction, returning it nearly to its original appearance, with further renovation in 2000. Both the church and belfry are protected heritage structures.
