Temple Emanuel, a modern brick synagogue in Davenport, Iowa, was designed by architect Percival Goodman and completed in 1953. The congregation itself, established in 1861, is the oldest Jewish community in Iowa. In 2019, Temple Emanuel merged its physical space with Congregation Beth Israel to form the Beit Shalom Jewish Community, a shared Reform Jewish facility located on the east side of Davenport. Both congregations remain affiliated with the Union for Reform Judaism.
