A concert hall and auditorium built for Buffalo's Pan-American Exposition of 1901, the Temple of Music exemplified Art Nouveau architecture. The structure gained tragic historical significance when President William McKinley was shot inside the building on September 6, 1901, by assassin Leon Czolgosz. Like most buildings erected for the fair, the Temple of Music was demolished upon the exposition's conclusion.
