Located in Caracas's cultural district of Bellas Artes, the Teresa Carreño Cultural Complex is Venezuela's preeminent theatre and the second largest in South America. Built on a 22,000-square-metre lot and named after the celebrated Venezuelan pianist Teresa Carreño, the brutalist structure houses two concert halls—the José Félix Ribas and the Ríos Reyna—hosting symphonic and popular concerts, opera, ballet, and theatrical performances. The complex also accommodates the National Theater Company of Venezuela and the Monte Ávila Editores bookstore. Designated a national historical monument, it stands as a flagship cultural institution under the artistic direction of conductor Rodolfo Saglimbeni.
