The Theodore L. Marvel House, built in 1883 in Taunton, Massachusetts, exemplifies the Shingle Style with its irregularly shaped form, hipped gable roof, and mixed wall surfaces of fieldstone and shingles. Located at 188 Berkley Street, the residence features a boldly arched fieldstone porch and varied fenestration as dominant design elements. A connected barn, also shingle-clad with fieldstone, displays sweeping rooflines, eyebrow windows, and a large arched entrance. The house sits within a substantial landscaped estate. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.
