The Palace of Culture in Timișoara, Romania, is an emblematic civic building designed by the architectural firm Fellner & Helmer that stands on the northern side of Victory Square. Serving as a major cultural institution, it houses the Romanian National Opera, the Mihai Eminescu National Theatre, the Csiky Gergely Hungarian State Theatre, and the German State Theatre. The building holds significant historical weight: on 31 October 1918, the unification of Banat and Romania was agreed upon in the Kronprinz Rudolf restaurant on its ground floor, and on 20 December 1989, during the Romanian Revolution, the Democratic Romanian Front was founded within its walls as Timișoara was declared free from communism. Designated a historical monument of national importance, it remains one of the city's principal landmarks.
