Toko Tio Tek Hong, located at the junction of the Ciliwung River and a flood-water canal in Central Jakarta, was founded in 1902 by businessman Tio Tek Hong as one of the earliest modern department stores in colonial Indonesia. Built in the rationalist architectural style, the building has survived as a colonial landmark in the Indonesian capital and has undergone recent renovation.
