The Tokyo Mosque, located in the Ōyama-chō district of Shibuya ward, is Japan's largest mosque. Completed in 2000 and designed by Turkish architect Hilmi Şenalp, the building stands 23.25 meters tall and exemplifies Ottoman architectural style. The structure includes an adjoining Turkish culture center. The site has religious roots dating to 1938, though the current edifice represents a modern reconstruction that honors traditional Islamic design principles.
