The Tonawanda Armory in Erie County, New York, is a brick and stone castle-like structure completed in 1897 for the 25th Separate Company of the New York National Guard. Designed by State Architect Isaac G. Perry, it exemplifies Romanesque Revival architecture with intentional echoes of medieval European military fortifications. The complex comprises a two-story hip-roofed administration building adjoined to a 1½-story gable-roofed drill shed spanning 30,000 square feet, and is distinguished by a five-story octagonal tower at its southwest corner and a two-story round tower to the northwest. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994, the armory is now privately owned and open for rental and tours.
