Trinity Church, located at Elkridge in Howard County, Maryland, is a historic Episcopal church built between 1856 and 1857 as a chapel-of-ease for Queen Caroline Parish. Constructed of fieldstone with shingle-style walls, the rectangular structure features three bays and a distinctive semi-octagonal stone apse on its east end. Originally established on land donated by William G. Ridgley and Dr. Lennox Birckhead, the church served the rural post road community—variously called Waterloo, Pierceland, Jessop, and Jessup. Under its first rector, Alexander X. Berger, Trinity functioned as a chapel until 1866, when it became an independent parish. Major structural additions were made around 1890. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.
