Trinity Lutheran Church in downtown Canton, Ohio, is a Romanesque Revival structure completed in 1886 and designed by architect Guy Tilden. Originally built for a thriving congregation that had separated from Canton's oldest Lutheran parish to worship in English, the church closed in the early 2010s. The building's design reflects a hybrid aesthetic: while Tilden favored Romanesque Revival forms, the building committee's wishes led him to incorporate Gothic Revival elements, creating a composition dominated by a 60-foot bell tower on the left facade. The tower features tall ogive windows and a steep pyramidal crown, while the main section presents a central gable and a porte-cochere, all rendered in sandstone with stone foundation and characterized by thick walls and imitation cloister-style windows that evoke the original Romanesque style. Notable interior features include ornate stained glass windows. Measuring 70 by 180 feet, Trinity is considered one of Canton's finest examples of Romanesque Revival architecture and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985 for its architectural significance and community importance.
