Union Hall is a historic commercial building in North Salem, Westchester County, New York, built around 1848 in the Italianate style. Constructed as a wood-frame structure sheathed in unpainted clapboard, it is ingeniously built into a steep slope, presenting a two-story front facade while rising to four stories at the rear. The rectangular building originally served multiple functions—as a store, meeting hall, stagecoach stop, and residence—reflecting the mixed-use character of nineteenth-century rural architecture. A contributing carriage barn once stood on the property, though it was demolished in 2001 after its roof collapsed under heavy snow in January 1996. The building's original owner and precise construction date remain undocumented due to gaps in local Land Records. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.
