The United States Post Office–Salem Main, located at 2 Margin Street in Salem, Massachusetts, is a two-story brick Colonial Revival building completed in 1932 to designs by architect Philip Horton Smith of the firm Smith & Walker. Among Salem's finest civic buildings in the style, it features a distinctive cross-gable roof with its main entry positioned on the long facade and crowned by a decorated pedimented gable. The first floor is distinguished by round-arched, slightly recessed windows, while the second floor displays rectangular fenestration. A granite line marks the transition to the cornice, which along with the gable elements showcases heavy dentil molding characteristic of Colonial Revival detailing. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986, it remains in active use as Salem's primary post office.
