The Cathedral of the Visitation in Vilkaviškis, Lithuania, is a Romanesque Revival structure erected between 1870 and 1881, then consecrated in 1884. When the Diocese of Vilkaviškis was established in 1926, the church was elevated to cathedral status, becoming the seat of the diocese. Though the building escaped major damage during World War II, Soviet authorities subsequently dismantled it for materials, until its reconstruction began after communism's fall in 1991, with work completed in 1998.
