Villa Barbaro, designed by Andrea Palladio and completed in 1550, stands in Maser in Italy's Veneto region as a masterwork of Palladian architecture. Built for Daniele Barbaro, Patriarch of Aquileia and ambassador to Queen Elizabeth I, and his brother Marcantonio, ambassador to King Charles IX of France, the villa exemplifies Renaissance grandeur through its refined proportions and classical vocabulary. The interior decoration by Paolo Veronese and sculptor Alessandro Vittoria enhanced its magnificence with frescoes and sculptural ornament. Recognized as part of UNESCO's World Heritage Sites since 1996, Villa Barbaro remains a defining example of the villa veneta tradition.
